Full frontal attack
I wanted the front to be built up with five layers of acrylic and aluminium to give depth to the case.
First out is the main acrylic front, which has six big holes in it. Four are for 120mm fans, and the other two are for DVD and front I/O.
The DVD and front I/O ports were then cut into the acrylic below the fan holes. Rather than just leave them flush against the acrylic, I chose to give them a design of their own. An aluminium cover was then crafted over each to stealth them.
The third layer is what I’ll call the front grid, and it’s there to provide fangrilles as well as just looking sweet. They took some time to make though, about three to four hours for each of the four parts.
Layers four and five make up a small cross that is elevated from the front by small spacers. The cross itself is made from acrylic, and small parts of aluminium are glued onto it.
